This is a high-impact role with direct access to the CEO and founders , offering the opportunity to shape and scale go-to-market strategy at a critical growth stage.
Role Overview**
The GTM Director will own go-to-market strategy and revenue for a defined vertical. This role blends strategy, execution, and closing, requiring someone who can identify target customers, build pipeline from zero, and personally drive deals through completion.
This is a hands-on leadership role, not advisory or fractional.
📍 This role is onsite in Austin, TX.
Develop and execute a vertical-specific GTM strategy, including market mapping and competitive analysis
Identify target customer profiles and buying personas within the assigned vertical
Generate pipeline through events, campaigns, partnerships, content, and direct outbound
Own the full sales cycle: prospecting → discovery → negotiation → contract execution
Partner closely with marketing to drive effective market penetration and demand generation
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings
Act as a trusted advisor to customers, translating feedback into actionable insights for product and leadership
Report on pipeline, revenue, and performance with clear, data-driven metrics
Candidates must meet all of the following to be considered:
5–10 years of experience in GTM, strategy, operations, or top-tier management consulting
Proven GTM experience at a fast-growing, pre-public startup (REQUIRED)
Strong client-facing, consultative sales background
Demonstrated ability to show measurable outcomes (revenue, pipeline, growth metrics) on resume
Undergraduate degree from a Top-100 institution
Excellent analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills
Deep understanding of customer pain points and value-based selling
Experience building GTM strategy in fraud, identity security, or cybersecurity verticals
Background at McKinsey, Bain, BCG, or as a GM/Revenue Leader at a high-growth startup
Prior ownership of P&L or revenue targets end-to-end
No experience with strategic market analysis or GTM execution
Majority of experience at slow-moving, legacy companies (e.g., Intel-style environments)
Running a consulting agency, fractional roles, or contract-based GTM work
Unstable resumes with frequent short tenures
