The Sales Operations & Planning Manager is responsible for leading inside sales operations, customer operations, and production planning alignment to ensure accurate forecasting, on-time delivery, and achievement of monthly revenue targets.
This role serves as the operational backbone of the commercial organization, driving process discipline, cross-functional coordination, and revenue execution.
Lead and develop Inside Sales Representatives and Customer Operations personnel
Establish performance metrics and accountability standards
Oversee order management, backlog tracking, and customer communication processes
Ensure timely and accurate RFQ processing and quote execution
Own monthly revenue forecast consolidation and tracking
Maintain a clear shipment plan tied to revenue targets
Identify gaps, risks, and recovery actions to achieve forecast
Lead daily/weekly production alignment meetings
Partner with Planning, Purchasing, Quality, and Production to align customer demand with manufacturing capacity
Monitor scheduled ship dates and proactively resolve constraints
Drive prioritization decisions to protect revenue goals
Establish standardized reporting dashboards for revenue, backlog, and on-time performance
Improve cross-functional communication cadence
Identify process gaps and implement scalable operational improvements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
7+ years of experience in sales operations, customer operations, planning, or manufacturing environment
3+ years of people leadership experience
Strong understanding of forecasting, backlog management, and revenue planning
Experience working in a manufacturing or engineered-to-order environment preferred
Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
Strong communication and organizational skills
