Vertex is seeking a Senior Program Manager to support delivery operations and execution across the Marketing Technology (MarTech) organization.
This role will partner closely with MarTech Platform Owners, Business Engagement Leads, agency partners, business stakeholders, and technology teams to coordinate delivery of marketing technology initiatives across digital experience, omnichannel engagement, customer data, content operations, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities.
The successful candidate will serve as a central coordinator for portfolio execution, helping manage integrated planning, cross-functional dependencies, delivery risks, release readiness, stakeholder communications, and operational governance activities. This individual will help ensure initiatives are delivered efficiently while improving visibility, accountability, and execution discipline across the MarTech ecosystem.
This is a hands-on contract role requiring strong program leadership, organization, communication, and stakeholder management skills within a complex, matrixed environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with customer engagment platforms, be strategic and organized as well have a backround in program or project management.

Coordinate delivery of multiple concurrent MarTech initiatives across business, technology, agency, and vendor teams.
Develop and maintain integrated project plans, milestones, dependencies, workback schedules, decision logs, and action trackers.
Track delivery progress, risks, issues, assumptions, and mitigation plans; proactively escalate items requiring leadership attention.
Facilitate delivery status reviews and provide clear, concise execution updates to stakeholders and leadership.
Support execution across web and digital experience, content operations, customer engagement, marketing automation, customer data, consent and preference management, and AI-enabled capabilities.
Serve as a central point of coordination among Platform Owners, Business Engagement Leads, business stakeholders, DCE/CIAO partners, agencies, vendors, and technology delivery teams.
Identify and manage dependencies across projects, platforms, teams, and release timelines.
Coordinate stakeholder communications and escalation pathways when scope, priorities, resources, or timelines are at risk.
Facilitate trade-off and decision-making discussions, documenting outcomes and driving actions to closure.
Support alignment with relevant Medical, Commercial, Legal, Privacy, Information Security, and other enterprise partners as required by an initiative.
Support MarTech governance forums, portfolio reviews, planning cadences, and operational reporting.
Maintain portfolio views, delivery dashboards, status reports, RAID logs, capacity inputs, and other decision-support artifacts.
Assist with intake administration, demand tracking, impact-assessment coordination, and prioritization activities.
Ensure requests and initiatives are appropriately documented, routed, monitored, and progressed through established governance processes.
Contribute to portfolio metrics and delivery performance reporting that improve transparency, predictability, and accountability.
Coordinate implementation readiness, testing activities, launch planning, and go-live communications across interconnected initiatives.
Support UAT planning, issue and defect tracking, deployment coordination, and release management activities.
Confirm readiness checkpoints, ownership, approvals, training needs, and stakeholder communications are addressed before launch.
Monitor launch dependencies and escalate readiness risks early.
Identify opportunities to strengthen intake, governance, delivery, release, and cross-functional coordination processes.
Drive adoption of standardized program management practices, templates, and delivery disciplines.
Use automation and AI-enabled tools, where appropriate, to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
Contribute to scalable operating practices as the MarTech portfolio and organization continue to mature.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Marketing, Technology, Operations, or a related discipline.
7+ years of experience in program management, project management, digital operations, marketing technology, or a related field.
Experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives in a complex, matrixed organization.
Experience coordinating cross-functional teams, external vendors, and agency partners.
Strong capability in integrated planning, dependency management, risk management, release readiness, and stakeholder communications.
Experience developing leadership-ready status reporting, portfolio views, and decision-support materials.
Demonstrated ability to bring structure to ambiguity, organize complex workstreams, and drive accountability without direct authority.
Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, executive presence, and relationship-management skills.
Experience supporting MarTech, digital transformation, customer engagement, CRM, content, web, customer data, marketing automation, or consent and preference capabilities.
Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or another highly regulated industry experience.
Working knowledge of Agile, hybrid delivery, and product operating models.
Experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Power BI, or comparable delivery and portfolio-management platforms.
Experience supporting omnichannel marketing, digital experiences, content operations, or AI-enabled marketing capabilities.
Moves complex, cross-team work forward with urgency and discipline.
Creates clear, trusted views of status, dependencies, risks, and decisions.
Builds alignment across business, technology, agencies, vendors, and governance partners.
Brings order to ambiguity and translates priorities into coordinated execution plans.

Tailors concise, decision-oriented updates for delivery teams and senior stakeholders.
Establish reliable visibility across assigned MarTech initiatives, milestones, dependencies, risks, and decisions.
Improve coordination and follow-through across platform teams, stakeholders, agencies, and delivery partners.
Provide consistent, decision-oriented delivery reporting and governance support.
Drive priority initiatives forward with limited day-to-day oversight.
Reduce operational burden on Platform Owners and MarTech leadership by proactively managing execution details and action closure.
$90-$100/hr
