The PCT Demand Generation Lead (Band 6) is a senior commercial and clinical leadership role responsible for driving national demand generation and adoption of Thermo Fisher Scientificâs PCT biomarker portfolio across Japan. This position plays a critical role in accelerating growth by shaping clinical demand, influencing key stakeholders, and ensuring high-quality execution of scientific and educational initiatives.
The role has direct leadership responsibility for a team of two demand generation professionals and operates with national scope, covering major hospital systems, reference laboratories, and key clinical centers across Japan. The PCT Demand Manager works in close partnership with license partners, internal sales and marketing teams, product management, and global stakeholders to translate strategy into measurable commercial impact.
Drive sustainable revenue growth and increased clinical adoption of PCT by strengthening demand generation capabilities and clinical education at scale.
Establish PCT as a standard-of-care biomarker within priority customer segments, including acute care hospitals, emergency departments, ICUs, and clinical laboratories.
Build and execute a robust national demand generation strategy, aligned with Japanâs commercial priorities and global PCT direction.
Enable license partners and field teams with strong scientific messaging, clinical evidence, and effective engagement tools to accelerate customer conversion and usage.
Develop a high-performing, future-ready team, ensuring strong scientific credibility, commercial mindset, and execution excellence.
Team leadership: Direct management, coaching, and development of two demand generation specialists, with accountability for performance, capability building, and execution quality.
Geographic scope: Japan-wide responsibility, with focus on priority regions, key hospital networks, and high-impact accounts.
Customer & stakeholder segments: Physicians (e.g., emergency medicine, critical care, infectious disease), hospital decision-makers, laboratory professionals, KOLs, academic societies, and strategic license partners.
Strategic influence: Input into annual operating plans, demand forecasts, partner strategy, and mid- to long-term growth initiatives.
Balancing scientific credibility with commercial impact: The role requires deep clinical expertise combined with strong business acumen to influence adoption in a complex, evidence-driven healthcare environment.

Through strong leadership, strategic thinking, and disciplined execution, the PCT Demand Manager will play a pivotal role in expanding clinical demand, strengthening partnerships, and delivering sustainable growth for Thermo Fisher Scientific in Japan.
7â10 years of experience in IVD, clinical diagnostics, demand generation, scientific marketing, or related commercial functions.
Demonstrated experience managing teams or leading cross-functional initiatives (formal or informal leadership).
Strong understanding of clinical laboratory workflows and the IVD market in Japan.
Proven experience implementing or supporting clinical education programs and scientific marketing activities.
Strong scientific communication skills (written and verbal) in Japanese and English.
Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team.
Strong business acumen, including forecasting and budget management.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong project management, analytical capabilities, and a structured approach to problem-solving.
High learning agility, adaptability, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Experience collaborating with KOLs and clinical societies at a national level.
Exposure to developing or executing national-level growth strategies.
Experience in consultative selling or scientific field support roles.
