Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Commercial Operations Specialist, located in Madrid, Spain.
The Commercial Operations Specialist provides end‑to‑end operational execution and governance support for the indirect channel, with a primary focus on consistent account planning, disciplined commercial execution, asset‑related execution, and structured coordination with TPIs, Business Development, Marketing, and Supply Chain.
The role acts as the single consolidation point for account planning across the indirect channel, ensuring that commercial plans are developed in a consistent manner, translated into clear and structured operational requirements, and executed with discipline across regions, partners, and accounts.
The role enables operational excellence by consolidating, validating, and prioritizing commercial input, ensuring high data quality, clear governance, and effective hand‑offs to Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations.
In addition, the position supports analytics and performance analysis of key commercial and operational variables across the indirect channel, providing clear visibility into execution progress, risks, and outcomes. The role plays a critical part in driving consistent execution, structured follow‑up, and practical performance insights, supporting informed decision‑making and continuous improvement within the indirect business model.
Consolidate and ensure consistency of account planning and operational requirements across the indirect channel, ensuring a common structure, complete data, and alignment with defined commercial priorities.
Act as the single consolidation point for indirect channel commercial input towards Supply Chain and other functions.
Provide support to the execution of commercial and operational plans, following up on key actions, milestones, and risks.
Support asset management from a commercial and execution perspective.
Ensure coordination and follow‑up of agreed action plans.
Maintain simple reports and dashboards to track execution and operational discipline across the indirect channel.
Ensure adherence to defined operational processes and standards for the indirect channel, identifying deviations and supporting corrective actions
Experience in commercial operations, sales operations, supply chain, or operational roles, ideally within MedTech or healthcare environments.
Strong analytical capability with high attention to detail and data discipline.
Proficiency in reporting and planning tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, ERP/CRM systems), with ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in complex, matrix environments.
Process-oriented mindset with a clear focus on efficiency, cost control, and continuous improvement.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Fluency in Spanish and English.
Highly structured and detail-oriented, with strong ownership mindset.
Data-driven and comfortable working with complex datasets.
Proactive, hands-on, and execution-focused.
Able to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and priorities.
