Ottimate is an AI-powered accounts payable automation platform serving restaurants, hotels, healthcare, and other multi-unit businesses. Our platform turns invoices, approvals, and vendor payments into a single automated workflow.
We are seeking a highly motivated MBA or Graduate intern to work directly with our GTM leadership team on strategic initiatives that leverage Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence to transform how our organization tracks, analyzes, and predicts business performance.
This is not a traditional internship focused on building basic, static spreadsheets or just shadow-observing meetings. Over an 8 to 12-week engagement (up to 20 hours per week), you will be responsible for helping us build modern, scalable analytical frameworks. You will learn to merge traditional Business Intelligence (BI) with Generative AI capabilities to unlock deeper insights, automate data workflows, and create long-term organizational leverage. The successful candidate will leave behind intelligent tools, blueprints, and dashboards that continue to drive value long after the internship concludes.
We’re looking for someone who is equal parts data analyst, strategist, and AI enthusiast. You don't need to be a hard-core software engineer or a data scientist, but you must have a natural comfort around data, high curiosity, and a bias toward execution using modern technical leverage.
Education: Currently pursuing an MBA, Master’s in Business Analytics, Finance, Data Strategy, or a similar graduate business degree.
High AI Literacy & Curiosity: You are someone who already uses Generative AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) as a leverage tool in your daily life, research, or academic projects—especially for data manipulation, structuring information, or basic scripting.
Data & Querying Familiarity: Prior experience or strong academic coursework using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Google Looker Studio) and a basic understanding of SQL (ability to read, understand, and write basic queries).
Analytical Mindset: Comfort working with messy datasets, operational metrics, and translating raw numbers into visual, executive-ready stories.
Systems Logic: Strong logical thinking; you understand or are eager to learn how data flows between different enterprise systems (e.g., CRM to data warehouses to BI).
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to independently structure ambiguous problems.
Basic understanding of Python (specifically for data manipulation with Pandas).
Familiarity with No-code automation tools (Zapier, Make, n8n) applied to data workflows.
Familiarity with core SaaS, GTM, or financial metrics (LTV, CAC, Churn, Pipeline Velocity).
Depending on organizational priorities, the intern will co-design and prototype initiatives alongside leadership, such as:
AI-Assisted Data Prototyping: Leverage LLM advanced data-analysis capabilities to clean, structure, and find hidden patterns in internal datasets, creating the blueprints for automated reporting.
Next-Gen Dashboard Optimization: Help upgrade our current BI dashboards, exploring and testing how to embed natural language queries so internal teams can easily "ask questions" directly to the data.
Automated Insights Pilot: Design and test a prototype workflow that uses Generative AI to automatically draft the first version of weekly or monthly executive data summaries and anomaly detection.
Data Flow & Automation Mapping: Audit and document how data moves across our business units and identify friction points where manual data preparation can be replaced by automated tools.
By the end of the internship, the candidate will have delivered tangible, high-leverage assets that elevate our data maturity, including:
Production-Ready Prototypes: Live or staging BI dashboards updated and optimized for leadership decision-making.
AI-Enabled Data Blueprints: Tested and documented processes that prove how AI can cut data-cleaning and reporting time significantly.
Executive-Ready Briefs: Strategic recommendations based on data discoveries made during the 8-12 week engagement.
Operational Frameworks: Clean, well-documented structures that increase scalability and reduce our dependency on manual analytical effort.
