Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Strategy & Operations Lead, located in Greece.
Lead the design, governance, and performance of the commercial model across distributor markets within the cluster. Act as a strategic partner to the Managing Director and market leaders, driving growth, profitability, and long-term value creation through pricing, go-to-market strategy, and partner management.
1. Commercial Strategy & Market Development
Shape and drive the commercial strategy across distributor markets, ensuring alignment with regional and global priorities
Define and evolve go-to-market models across markets and platforms
Identify growth opportunities and develop market development plans tailored to local dynamics
Support market leaders in evaluating strategic trade-offs between growth, profitability, and market positioning
2. Pricing & Revenue Growth Management
Own pricing strategy and governance across markets, ensuring consistency and discipline
Lead development of pricing frameworks, discount corridors, and deal evaluation models
Drive revenue growth management, including portfolio mix, pricing optimization, and commercial trade-offs
Act as a key advisor in high-value negotiations and complex commercial agreements
3. Distributor & Channel Management
Define and evolve distributor strategy, including selection, segmentation, and performance frameworks
Structure and govern commercial agreements with distributors, including incentives, targets, and investment models
Monitor and drive distributor performance, ensuring alignment with growth and profitability objectives
Support key negotiations with strategic partners and distributors
4. Commercial Performance & Decision Support
Own the commercial performance framework across the trade markets cluster (growth, profitability, market share)
Translate data and insights into actionable recommendations for leadership decision-making
Identify risks and opportunities and proactively propose actions
Ensure consistency of performance management practices across markets
5. Cross-Functional Leadership & Execution
Lead cross-functional initiatives involving Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Regulatory teams
Drive alignment across stakeholders to implement commercial strategies effectively
Act as a bridge between regional strategy and local market execution
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Finance or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
Proven experience in commercial strategy, pricing, or business operations, preferably within the healthcare or medical technology sectors.
Strong understanding of go-to-market models and distributor environments
Experience in cross-functional leadership and complex stakeholder management
Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop long-term strategies that drive business success and adapt to market changes
Leadership Skills: Exceptional ability to inspire and manage a diverse team, fostering collaboration and accountability
Analytical Skills: Strong proficiency in data analysis and the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies
Project Management: Competence in managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and objectives
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders at all levels
Problem-Solving: Strong capability to identify challenges and implement effective solutions that enhance operational efficiency
