DESCRIPTION:
As a Systems Analyst I (Business Systems Analyst) at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will contribute to supporting and enhancing enterprise applications that enable our mission to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. This role operates within application support and IT service management, with a focus on requirements analysis, system validation support, and delivery of compliant solutions.
You will work closely with business and IT stakeholders to gather and document requirements, support backlog management, and contribute to solution design and system enhancements. The role includes participation across the software development lifecycle, ensuring alignment between business needs, technical solutions, and operational processes.
Key responsibilities include translating business-level User Stories and vendor-level functional specifications into GxP requirements for use in Validation documentation. Supporting and ensuring stakeholder engagement and maintaining traceability across the SDLC and validation standards of practice. You will assist in all testing coordination, documentation and support validation activities along side colleagues from other workstreams and departments to ensure total stakeholder awareness of all change management and testing activities to ensure the solutions meet the business and regulatory expectations.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree required
Preferred Fields of Study: Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field
Additional relevant certifications are preferred (e.g., ITIL Foundation, GAMP 5, platform-specific certifications)
Nice to have: PMP, SCRUM certificates and some background in IT project management

Ability to work in a regulated environment following standard operating procedures
Participation in on-call rotation as needed
Strong sense of ownership with the ability to self-direct work, anticipate challenges, and proactively drive resolution of issues beyond defined scope.
Support requirements intake and backlog tracking under guidance, ensuring alignment with business priorities
Assist in translating business needs into user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria
Participate in stakeholder discussions to gather requirements and support impact assessments
Maintain documentation and traceability between requirements, testing, and delivered solutions
Support User Acceptance Testing activities, including test coordination, defect tracking, and validation of results
Contribute to process standardization and documentation best practices
Assist in validation lifecycle activities for system changes, including documentation and testing support
Support development and maintenance of validation deliverables such as test scripts and traceability matrices
Ensure adherence to GxP, regulatory, and internal compliance standards
Support testing execution and evidence collection aligned with CSV or CSA practices
Contribute to audit readiness by maintaining accurate and complete documentation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong customer service orientation with the ability to collaborate across teams
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a structured environment
