Through brands such as Bankers Life, Colonial Penn, and Washington National, CNO delivers life and health insurance, annuities, financial services, and workforce benefits to more than 3.3 million policyholders, supported by $38.3 billion in total assets.

With a strong financial foundation, national presence, and a culture rooted in integrity, excellence, and people‑first values, CNO offers meaningful opportunities for professional growth and impact across its U.S. locations, including its headquarters in Carmel, Indiana.

To be eligible for consideration, candidates must currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Please note that the Company does not intend to sponsor work visas with respect to this position or future full-time employment opportunities.

This is a paid internship, at competitive rates. The Memorial Day and 4th of July holidays are paid days off.

CNO Financial Group is hiring a Sales Enablement Intern to join our Worksite team for a single, summer-long project. You’ll use research, data, and in-market experiments to help our Agents connect with Employers and Employees and see your ideas turned into measurable results.

We’re looking for a curious, driven student who enjoys solving real business problems. No prior industry experience required, just a strong interest in how sales, marketing, and technology work together.

Core responsibilities and deliverables:

  • Build campaign briefs for business customers, identifying what's driving engagement and what isn't.

  • Help design and run experiments to improve demand generation, customer engagement, and scheduling rates.

  • Research and recommend new campaign ideas for emerging markets.

  • Analyze marketing and sales data to find ways to improve results.

  • Partner with Marketing and Compliance teams on a real, cross-functional project.

  • Recommend process improvements based on your findings.

What you need (Minimum requirements):

  • Progress toward a bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, Communication, Information Systems, Economics, or related fields.

  • Rising junior or rising senior status (expected graduation December 2027–June 2028).

  • Availability to work 40 hrs/week for 10–12 weeks during the summer.

  • Based in, or willing to work, Central or Eastern time zone business hours.

What will set you apart (Preferred experience):

  • Interest in the intersection of sales, marketing, and technology (MarTech, CRM, digital marketing).

  • Systems thinker, curious about AI

  • Coursework or concentration in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) with a MarTech or Digital focus.

  • Digital Marketing Technology or Marketing Analytics programs.

  • Comfort working with marketing data, marketing systems, and/or a B2B sales or enablement environment.

What you’ll gain:

  • A paid, full-time summer role owning a real project for CNO Financial Group’s Worksite division (Optavise).

  • Direct exposure to how a Fortune 500 company runs B2B2C sales enablement, sales Go-To-Market and campaign strategy.

  • Resume-ready experience in research, data analysis, project coordination, and executive-level presentation.

  • Mentorship from sales enablement leadership and the chance to see your recommendations implemented.

The CNO 2027 internship program will run May 17 through August 06, 2027.

CNO Financial Group offers the following activities for this internship that complement the learning provided by the department work:

  • Networking

  • Leader Talks

  • Career Counseling

  • Development Opportunities

  • Insurance Product and Industry Presentation Series

  • An in-person event at one of our corporate offices during one week of the internship program

  • Final Presentations

  • Volunteering Event

During the summer at CNO, Interns are eligible for:

  • Paid time to engage in Business Resource Group events.

  • The CNO Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

  • Onsite fitness centers.

  • Active & Fit Direct national fitness center discount program.

  • Marathon Health webinars.

  • Utilizing a free code for the Monumental Marathon entry.

CNO supports a flexible work environment and encourages Associates to work where they are most productive. This position may work fully remote from any US-based location, provided they are able to work Central or Eastern Time hours. All work must be performed within the United States, and occasional travel to corporate offices may be required.

Associates living within 60 miles of a corporate office (Carmel, IN; or Chicago, IL) have access to work from that location as needed.
