DESCRIPTION:
As a Systems Analyst III (Senior Business Systems Analyst) at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play a critical role in enabling enterprise application stability, scalability, and business value realization. This position operates at the intersection of IT service management, application support, and system integration, driving structured requirements management and delivering high-quality solutions aligned to business priorities with a primary focus on the Veeva Vault ecosystem..
You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to lead requirements intake, backlog governance, and solution design across enterprise platforms. The role requires strong ownership of the full lifecycle from demand intake through delivery, validation, and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with GxP and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities include translating complex business needs into actionable user stories and technical specifications, leading stakeholder engagement and impact assessments, and ensuring traceability across the software development lifecycle. You will also support and govern User Acceptance Testing, drive process standardization, and contribute to operational excellence across application services.
REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced Degree plus 3 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of experience in systems analysis, business requirements gathering, and solution design or equivalent experience.
Preferred Fields of Study: Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration or related field
Professional certifications in relevant technologies or methodologies preferred (e.g., PMP, TOGAF, CSV, GAMP 5, ITIL Foundations, CBAP)
Strong knowledge of enterprise applications and integration related tools; including but not limited to, use of APIs, SDKs and middleware technologies.
Knowledge of data analysis, reporting tools, and database technologies (SQL)
Experience with GxP regulations, CFR Part 11 compliance, and validated systems in regulated environments
Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications
Proven knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)
Experience with ITIL processes, incident, problem, and change management
Experience with requirements and workflow management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, ServiceNow)
Preferred knowledge of Veeva Vault platform capabilities and configurations
Own requirements intake, prioritization, and backlog management, ensuring alignment with business strategy and application roadmaps
Translate business needs into well-defined user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria with end-to-end traceability
Lead stakeholder engagement, facilitate workshops, and perform impact assessments, risk analysis, and dependency mapping
Support and govern User Acceptance Testing, ensuring quality validation and alignment to defined requirements
Drive process standardization across requirements management, documentation, and delivery practices to improve consistency and efficiency
Advanced project management skills with experience leading cross-functional initiatives
Ability to guide team members, influence stakeholders, and provide functional leadership without direct authority
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on continuous improvement
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and operate independently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders and influence decision-making across organizational levelsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating across business and IT teams
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and relevant technical and requirements management tools
Language skills: Fluent in English; additional languages beneficial
