We are seeking a skilled Business Systems Analyst to configure and enhance our Zuora Revenue (RevPro) platform, translating revenue accounting and reporting needs into clear requirements, robust functional designs, and scalable system configurations. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate, compliant revenue recognition outcomes and reliable downstream reporting across a global, subscription-based business.
You will do well in this role if you have hands-on experience with Zuora Revenue (or a similar revenue recognition system) and a solid foundation in revenue recognition concepts (ASC 606 / IFRS 15). You will work closely with Finance (Revenue Accounting), Business Operations, and upstream system teams (e.g. Zuora Billing, Salesforce, SAP/GL) to deliver well-tested changes, improve data quality, and support stable end-to-end data flows into Zuora Revenue. This role suits someone who enjoys digging into real-world scenarios, communicating clearly, and steadily building expertise, while also offering enough breadth and complexity to keep experienced candidates challenged.
Elicit, document, and validate business requirements and process flows for revenue accounting and reporting (e.g. order-to-revenue, contract modifications, allocations, holds, and releases).
Translate requirements into scalable Zuora Revenue configuration by maintaining revenue rules and templates, SSP inputs, allocation logic, accounting setups, and reporting outputs.
Provide solution options, estimates, and delivery plans, and work with cross-functional stakeholders to clarify requirements and recommend scalable approaches.
Partner with Finance (Revenue Accounting), Business Operations, and upstream system teams (e.g. Zuora Billing, Salesforce, SAP/GL) to ensure accurate end-to-end data flow into Zuora Revenue.
Use AI tools responsibly to improve productivity and quality—leveraging Zuora’s in-product AI where available and Microsoft Copilot to analyze logs and data extracts, research Zuora functionality, and support configuration and testing decisions, while validating outputs for accuracy, security, and compliance.
Support design and delivery of integrations and data loads (e.g. order, invoice, credit memo, and usage feeds), including field mapping, file specifications, data quality checks, and reconciliation.
Promote continuous improvement across the team by identifying repeatable patterns, automating manual steps where feasible, and improving testing, peer reviews, environment hygiene, and operational readiness.
Create and execute test scenarios (SIT/UAT), including expected accounting outcomes; triage defects and collaborate with engineers/vendors to remediate issues.
Provide day-to-day operational support for Zuora Revenue, including troubleshooting revenue exceptions, understanding error patterns, and driving root cause fixes and preventative controls.
Produce and maintain high-quality documentation (requirements, configuration notes, decision logs, runbooks, and knowledge articles) using AI tools (e.g. Copilot) to improve draft quality, structure and completeness.
Essential:
6-8 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst / Functional Analyst configuring and supporting Zuora Revenue or a comparable revenue recognition system.
Understanding of revenue recognition concepts (e.g. ASC 606 / IFRS 15), including performance obligations, allocations, contract modifications, and revenue schedules.
Understanding of Zuora Revenue configuration including revenue rules and templates, SSP inputs, allocation logic, accounting setups, and reporting outputs.
Hands-on experience gathering requirements, writing user stories/acceptance criteria, and translating them into Zuora Revenue configuration and/or detailed functional specifications.
Practical experience using AI tools as part of daily work (e.g. Zuora’s AI/LLM capabilities and Microsoft Copilot) to accelerate configuration research, draft functional documentation, summarise requirements, and support troubleshooting (while validating outputs and following responsible AI practices).
Proactive team mindset and ability to handle time-sensitive, business-critical operational issues with appropriate urgency and attention to detail.
Strong analytical skills: comfortable working with data extracts, error reports, and reconciliations to diagnose issues and propose fixes.
Experience working with upstream/downstream integrations and data feeds (e.g. Zuora Billing, Salesforce, SAP/GL), including field mapping, data validation, and reconciliation.
Testing experience across the delivery lifecycle (SIT/UAT), including designing test cases, executing tests, and managing defects through to resolution.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain accounting/system outcomes to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong documentation discipline: produces high-quality runbooks, process notes, and configuration documentation that others can follow.
Desirable
Desirable:
Zuora Revenue certification(s) and/or relevant accounting qualification exposure (e.g. revenue accounting background).
Experience with period-end activities and revenue close processes (e.g. reconciliations to subledger/GL, audit support, control evidence).
Experience supporting Zuora Billing and understanding of subscription lifecycle concepts (orders, subscriptions, amendments, invoices, credits) and how they impact revenue.
Familiarity with agile delivery practices (user stories, backlogs, sprint ceremonies) and working with distributed teams.
Experience using automation tools (e.g. Power Automate) or scripting to reduce manual operational effort, improve data quality checks, or streamline reporting.
Knowledge of IT security and architecture basics relevant to enterprise applications (e.g. least privilege, audit logging, data handling).
