Lean Layer is the #1 Rated RevOps Agency on G2, and we’re doubling our consulting team over the next year. Our reputation is built on excellent results, which means we need to keep hiring excellent people. We’re looking for a Revenue Operations Technical Consultant (Marketing Ops) to own the marketing operations layer of our clients’ go-to-market systems.
In this role, you will own the marketing operations backbone that powers our clients’ go-to-market motions, channel operations, attribution & measurement, lifecycle & funnel journeys, lead management, campaign operations, and the handoffs that connect marketing, business development, and sales. You’ll work primarily across HubSpot and Salesforce environments while also touching other MAPs/CRMs and third-party systems to help translate ambiguous GTM goals into scalable, reliable, and well-governed systems.
As a technical consultant, you will drive strategic and tactical marketing operations conversations with clients and engagement managers, right-size solutions to the problem in front of you, and lead marketing ops execution across a wide variety of accounts. This is a role for someone who can move fluidly between the whiteboard and the building, and who takes ownership of outcomes rather than tickets.
You’ll partner closely with engagement managers, RevOps technical consultants, and BI/data teammates to make sure marketing data flows cleanly into reporting, campaigns are measurable, and the full marketing-to-sales lifecycle operates as one connected system.
The ideal candidate:
Can lead strategic marketing operations conversations and translate marketing goals into technical solutions
Is comfortable in a variety of MAPs/CRMs but specializes in HubSpot & Salesforce environments with the ability to perform light-weight Salesforce administrative work as it relates to marketing and business development operations
Understands how marketing, business development, and sales actually work together and how to connect them operationally
Enjoys owning the full lifecycle: attribution, campaigns, journeys, handoffs, and the reporting that proves it worked
Has strong attention to detail and cares about data quality, consistency, and governance
Can balance technical rigor with clarity and simplicity for non-technical stakeholders
Thrives owning and improving marketing operations systems over time, across multiple client environments
Has some technical execution experience across a variety of marketing channels paid media, web, events, chat, and email
Lead marketing operations discovery and solutioning conversations with clients and engagement managers
Translate marketing and GTM objectives into scalable, well-architected operational systems
Right-size solutions to the client’s maturity, tooling, and business goals rather than over-engineering
Serve as the marketing operations point of expertise on strategic accounts with dedicated marketing ops contracts
Design and maintain marketing campaign attribution models and reporting across HubSpot and Salesforce
Provide day-to-day marketing campaign operational support — setup, tracking, UTMs, and campaign hygiene
Build and manage event imports, list operations, and data flows that feed campaign execution
Ensure campaign data is measurable, consistent, and connected to pipeline and revenue outcomes
Design and operate lifecycle stage journeys spanning marketing, business development, and sales
Build marketing journeys, nurtures, and automation that move contacts through the funnel
Define and maintain lifecycle stage definitions, entry/exit criteria, and stage transition logic
Align lifecycle design to lead scoring, routing, and downstream sales processes
Design and operationalize handoffs between marketing, business development, and sales
Build lead routing, assignment, and SLA logic that keeps handoffs clean and accountable
Support outbound and business development processes, including sequencing, data, and workflow support
Reduce friction and data loss at every point where a lead moves between teams or systems
Configure and maintain HubSpot & Salesforce environments — workflows, properties, campaigns, and reporting
Perform light Salesforce work on the sales ops side, including fields, flows, and marketing-to-sales sync
Manage and troubleshoot the HubSpot–Salesforce integration to keep both systems in sync
Support core sales operations processes where marketing and sales systems intersect
Build marketing and funnel reporting that answers real business questions, not just displays data
Partner with BI/data teammates to ensure marketing data flows cleanly into reporting layers
Test and validate all workflows, journeys, and configurations before they go live
Own the outcome of your workstreams end to end; delivering quality work on time and standing behind it
3–5+ years of experience in marketing operations, RevOps, or a closely related GTM systems role, with a track record of leading projects to success
Demonstrated ability to lead strategic marketing operations conversations and translate business needs into technical solutions
Deep hands-on experience with HubSpot (Marketing Hub required; Sales & Data Hub a plus) & Salesforce (Sales Cloud required; Pardot a plus) — workflows, campaigns, properties, reporting, and integrations
Experience with marketing campaign attribution and funnel/lifecycle reporting
Experience designing lifecycle stages, lead routing, and marketing-to-sales handoffs
Strong data hygiene instincts and attention to reporting consistency and governance
Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with client-facing professionalism
Strong work ethic, ownership mindset, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams to deadline
Experience working in B2B SaaS go-to-market environments
Experience supporting business development and outbound processes (sequencing, prospecting leads management, handoffs)
Familiarity with SaaS GTM and revenue metrics (MQL/SQL, pipeline, conversion, ARR/MRR)
Experience with marketing automation platforms beyond HubSpot (e.g., Marketo, Pardot/Account Engagement)
Experience with integration, intent and enrichment tooling (e.g., ZoomInfo, Clay, Zapier, 6Sense, DemandBase, Letterdrop)
Experience with paid media operations (e.g., (Google Tag Manager, GA4, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag)
HubSpot and/or Salesforce certifications
Experience with web analytics and operations, forms, conversions
Experience consulting for or working with a US-based company
Comfort partnering with BI/data teams on downstream reporting and attribution models
